the wind is goin crazy outside. there's a piece of tin on the barn roof that needs nailing down. it is banging trying to get loose. and the back door likes to come open because the wind runs straight into it. a radio in my dad's room is slightly still on, not quite turned off, tuned to some old timey country station. and his breathing machine is going in and out over the slight music. in here there are two clocks . a grandfather and a wind up. competing over the music in the next room. and the rafters in my room upstairs are creeking and the debri in them is rustling.

uh oh. my mom's puppy is awake

and it's no wonder.
