and mom and i watched the shipping news tonight. [[sarah works at a video store-rental place, so she brings home the screeners whenever they're received.]] usually i can't tell if mom likes a movie or not. ..no,. that's not true. it's just that she usually doesn't like new ((post nineteen seventy)) movies. i don't understand me mommie. she likes movies like that, what is it .. that one barbara streisand movie where she's a psychic ... . it is a horrible bhhhorible musical corny early nineteen sixties crap thing. ooohh. i remember. ""on a clear day you can see for evvver"' oh no. the songis in my head aaaaaaaahghh.

she likes a movie like that and then she goes and likes stuff like 'the sound of music' (not quite as corny,, , more on the sentimental side of the corny coin))) . what else does she like. she loves (as do i) 'sense and sensibility', and , what else. ..ohh emmet otter's jug band christmas. oh that is a great one. really. and.. almost every hitchcock and, oh i can't name all the movies she likes. point is, one can never tell what she's gonna like.

tonight we watched the shipping news, a very new movie indeed, (strange, but sex scenes don't bother her near as much as cursing does.. eh? what is that..)) and after the movie is over, we're sitting around kinda lookin at each other ((cos the house is in the middle of nowhere with no basic, let alone cable))) , and she says, "you wanna watch it again?''
